Final Stage of Most Beautiful Quran Recitation Contest to Begin on May 19 in UAE

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Final stage of the sixth edition of the Most Beautiful Recitation Contest of the Holy Quran is slated to be held on May 19, 2012 in the UAE, Al-Ittihad daily newspaper reports.According to the newspaper, Head of the organizing committee Ibrahim Bu Melha said in a statement that the final round of the competition will be held at Al-Farooq mosque, a religious-cultural center in Dubai, from May 19 till May 23.Arranged by Dubai International Holy Quran Award, the annual event seeks to discover, sponsor and qualify Quran talents and tuneful voices.Participants of the ‘Quran Toddlers’ and ‘Quran Youngsters’ groups are going to compete at final stage on May 19 and 20, ‘Quran Youth’ group which is for those who are 26 years or above will compete on May 21 and 22 and on May 23 Masjid imams (Mosques’ prayer leaders) will compete at the final stage.Bu Melha, who is also adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs further added that: "The contest is held annually pursuing the aims of encouraging top reciters, strengthening their position in society, and attracting more individuals to Quranic TV programs". /129
